If occasional vehicle access is required, a fixed post in the opening can create a problem. Ask us about a retractable bollard or another removable arrangement before work starts.
For sites with a stated security specification, the product and the foundation must both meet it. We will not present a decorative or ordinary static post as crash rated without product evidence.

What is a fixed bollard?
A fixed or static bollard remains upright. It is intended for a position where vehicles should not normally pass.
Can fixed bollards be removed?
A permanently installed post requires building works to remove. If occasional vehicle access is needed, a removable or retractable product may suit better.
How far apart should fixed bollards be?
Spacing depends on the vehicles to be excluded, pedestrian access, site edges and any required emergency or delivery route. It should be designed for the actual site.
Can fixed posts be installed in paving?
Often, but the underlying ground and foundation matter more than the surface finish. We assess buried services and the method of reinstatement.
Are all fixed bollards impact rated?
No. A fixed post is not automatically certified for impact resistance. Ask for the exact product’s test evidence if a rating is required.
